Quer fazer seu relacionamento dar certo? A ciência tem uma fórmula mágica: veja pelo menos cinco filmes por mês junto com seu amor. O risco de separação cai pela metade.
Foi o que perceberam os cientistas americanos ao convidarem 174 casais recém-casados para a pesquisa. Eles foram aleatoriamente separados em três grupos: gerenciamento de conflito, treinamento de compaixão e aceitação, e análise do relacionamento por meio de filmes. Outros casais analisados não receberam nenhum treinamento.
O primeiro grupo treinou como escutar de verdade o parceiro, ao invés de só pensar em respostas imediatas durante uma discussão. Já a segunda turma recebeu treinamento para trabalhar junto, como um time – com exercícios e leituras aprenderam a se relacionar com mais compaixão e empatia, escutando o parceiro como se fosse um amigo, praticando gestos de gentileza e afeição, e usando linguagem de aceitação. Os dois grupos tiveram aulas semanais, com práticas supervisionadas, e lições de casa, ao longo de um mês, num total de 20 horas.
Quem assistiu aos filmes viu apenas uma aula de 10 minutos sobre a importância em estar atento ao relacionamento e como ver os filmes podem ajudar os casais a se entenderem. Aí tiveram de assistir ao filme “Um caminho para dois”, de 1967. Em seguida, separadamente, responderam a 12 questões sobre a história (do tipo “o casal estava pronto para abrir o coração e contar ao outro como realmente se sentiam?”), e tinham de avaliar se cada situação era muito diferente ou parecida com a deles. Em casa, com uma lista de 47 opções em mãos, tiveram de assistir a um filme por semana, durante 30 dias. E, em seguida, analisar durante 45 minutos, em média, sobre as situações do casal da história.
Três anos depois, os pesquisadores conversaram outra vez com os casais participantes. Todas as técnicas funcionavam bem: a taxa de divórcio caía de 24% para 11% entre os membros dos três grupos. Quem não havia participado dos treinamentos tinha mais chance de já estar separado. “A ideia de ver filmes é incrivelmente boa. É mais sensível e bem mais barata”, diz Thomas Bradbury, um dos autores do estudo.
Pois é, parece fácil melhorar um pouquinho seu namoro. Da próxima vez que for assistir a qualquer filme, fique atento, vai que você reconhece seus erros no casal da telinha.
